The growing use of 3D technology in security and defense applications reinforces what the gaming industry knew long ago—that 3D visual representation heightens the speed and recognition of objects or targets. For those who rely on visual queues such as screeners or those involved in perimeter detection and intrusion, judgment is accomplished more accurately when scenes are presented in a true 3D representation.
Synthosys has been involved in the development and use of 3D visualization techniques in support of Research and Development tests for government clients that include sensor data image optimization, sensor-fusion data (combining visual and non visual spectrum data), and Synthosys 3D proprietary hardware, where juxtaposition of images with fully dimensioned width, height and depth properties are shown in pilot tests to improve the cognition quality of operations personnel during the visual inspection or assessment process.
Synthosys has also consulted with commercial clients in the development and use of 3D user interactive systems coupled with content management systems to support interactive asset management and training systems.
